Job Purpose:

Repairing and maintaining trailers, tractors, and yard trucks for the Traffic Center.
Retention Bonus (External Hires)
$5,000 (In order to qualify, all rules and guidelines must be met)

Accountabilities:

Preventive Maintenance on all equipment - priority to all tractors (CNG/Diesel)

Brake adjustments and overhauls

Able to diagnose and trouble-shoot most repairs with little assistance

Electrical repairs

Assist other mechanics with electrical and other repairs

Repairs on tractors and trailers (to include jobs such as tire repair, air conditioning systems, air brake systems, alternators, wheel seals, etc.)

Minor bodywork and welding

Engine repairs

Timely entry of Garage Work Orders

Quarterly parts inventory

Daily work order completion through the World Class Maintenance System (WCMS)

Cross shift communication (all forms)

Other duties as required or assigned by Lead/Traffic management

Occasional flex schedule to cover open days/shifts

Overtime as required

Current fork truck license

Brake certification

Spill Containment training

Hazardous waste law awareness

Occasional overnight travel for training and meetings

DOT Regulation awareness

Maintain good/open interaction with fellow garage employees

Maintain a professional "service-oriented" attitude when interacting with drivers

Experience in Preventive Maintenance of all equipment associated with the Traffic Center

5 years garage experience preferred on trailers and tractors

· CDL-A license preferred but not required

You will use your extensive knowledge to assist entry-level mechanics with difficult repairs.

You will build relationships with vendors when getting estimates for parts or labor.

This is a physical job that often involves working in tight spaces under vehicles.

This is an experienced position. Here are our minimum requirements for you to consider prior to filling out our application:

You are at least 21 years of age or older

You may be required to work on weekends, holidays as well as off shift

Your driver's license has not been suspended or revoked in connection with a moving violation within the past three (3) years

You can 50 lift pounds or more with or without a reasonable accommodation
