The General Utility Technician is a position that is responsible for general labor in and around the manufacturing plant and warehouse. The weekly work hours are generally 24+ hours per week. Work hours can be variable and usually involve working nights and weekends. Holiday work is required. The individual must have the ability to lift 50 pounds safely, be capable of standing, bending, and lifting for up to 12 hours per day, see (near acuity and far acuity) climb stairs often, and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to the following:

• Pack bread presented by Auto Stacker

• Using tool to unjam stacking equipment

• Stack Pita bread (1st stack)

• Put plastic bags on bread trays

• Place 2nd stack of pitas in bags

• Move empty bread tray

• Push stack bread trays to cure area

• Work in various stations including monitoring and cutting sheeted dough from sheeter

• General housekeeping as needed

• Fill flour dusting stations as needed

• Flour sifting operations

• Feed pitas into the auto slicers

• Feed pitas into the splitters

• Mix seasoning as needed

• Maintain bread feeding rate necessary to maximize line throughput

• Perform sensory quality control checks to verify appearance code date, seal and case

• Pack and fold cartons close cartons and stack them on a pallet for transfer

• Operating semi-automated packaging equipment including being able to read a computer screen, resetting equipment after jams, and performing simple troubleshooting tasks to keep the line running

• Operate GUACP and associated tasks (clear faults, load cartons, change tape)

• Setup labelers and tape machines

• May be required to clean using chemicals and protective gear

• Break Relief as Assigned

• Other duties as assigned

• Overtime may be required

• Complete Changeovers as assigned
