Rosenberg Frito Lay Maintenance Department is looking for great candidates that are attending local technical schools, (Texas State Technical College (TSTC- any campus) and Warton County Junior College), with industrial maintenance program.
Ideal candidates are individuals with positive attitude, strong work ethic, go getter attitude, always willing to learn, and creativity.
Site will provide tools for the interns to utilize to include, basic hand tools, power tools, multi-meters, electrical safety tools, and specialty tools.
Individuals will gain extensive knowledge through hand-on training with techs on site on all manufacturing equipment week by week. Also includes, fabrication, welding, machining, and rebuilding of drive systems & pumps, repair and replace VFDs to include programming, electrical systems, and more.
Successful completion of the program will lead to full time mechanic position at the Rosenberg Frito Lay Maintenance Department.
Frito Lay’s Maintenance Mechanic Internship program is designed to provide students an opportunity to work side by side with experienced mechanics while gaining hands-on experience in rebuilding, repairing, troubleshooting, fabricating, and building industrial equipment. The program will last one semester with the potential for additional semesters. The ultimate goal is to prepare students for full-time employment with Frito Lay as a Maintenance Mechanic. The program will be designed to match work tasks with current or previous courses taken. The successful candidate will work 16 to 24 hours a week in an industrial maintenance environment. The work hours will flex based on your class schedule. The candidate will attend all required training including Safety Programs and job-specific training. Frito Lay will provide all required personal protective equipment including safety boots, shirts, and tools needed to complete tasks and assignments.
Minimum Qualifications
* Strong performance, attendance, and academic standing in a technical school program
* Willingness to work 16 to 24 hours per week and to commit to a semester-long program
* Must be currently enrolled in a technical school program (or will be within the next 6 months)
* Authorized to work in United States on a permanent basis
* Must be 18 years of age or older
